Theme app extension for Shopify

One button instead of a hundred dropdowns

GridCart draws product variants as a size × color grid with a quantity field in every cell — and an "Add all to cart" button that puts the whole selection in the cart with one click, from the shopper's browser.

How it works

Three steps, and not a line of code

Configured in the admin, drawn in the theme. As a theme app extension, it's added and removed from the block without manually editing the template.

1

Install the app

Shopify asks you to confirm just one permission — reading products. GridCart writes nothing to your store.

2

Add the block in your theme

Online Store → Themes → Customize → product page → Add block → GridCart. Once, no code.

3

Configure and publish

Choose the grid's axes, what to show in each cell, the button label — and check it on your own product before publishing.

Features

Built for hundreds of SKUs, not five

Two dropdowns and "Add to cart" is the usual mechanic for a store with five variants. A product with hundreds needs a different interface.

One screen, not ten clicks

Shoppers see the whole size×color matrix at once, enter quantities, and add their entire selection in a single action.

An honest limit, not a silent one

The Shopify theme counts variants in Liquid, and there's always a ceiling (250 per product). If a product doesn't fit entirely, the grid says so plainly instead of quietly hiding part of the selection.

Checkout runs through the shopper's browser

"Add all to cart" goes straight to Shopify's own /cart/add.js. The app's backend never sees an order and never holds a cart.

Live preview before publishing

Pick any of your own products and see the exact same engine that draws the storefront — before the grid ever reaches shoppers.

Stock, without an extra permission

"In stock / sold out" or an exact count — Liquid hands this to the theme without any additional scope on inventory.

Quantity rules

Minimum, step, maximum per line — for wholesale multiples and packs where "1 unit" doesn't make sense.

Security & data

Minimal-surface engineering — an architecture, not a slogan

Every point below is a technical decision backed by tests, not marketing copy.

One permission for everything

GridCart asks for only read_products. No write scope, no webhook beyond the mandatory GDPR ones.

Zero customer data

The grid draws from data already on the page. "Add all to cart" goes straight to Shopify — our backend never sees a shopper.

Settings aren't personal data

We only store grid appearance settings, tied to the store — never to an individual shopper.

Real deletion on request

The shop/redact webhook deletes stored settings within 48 hours — not a checkbox for show.

Pricing

One paid plan, one honest line

The line is whether the grid appears on your storefront. Settings and preview are always free: a merchant must see what they're buying before they pay for it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What happens with a product that has 300+ variants?

Liquid hands the theme no more than 250 variants per product — that's a Shopify platform limit, not the app's. A product with more is drawn up to 250, and the grid states the truncation plainly; shoppers pick the rest the theme's regular way.

Will this slow down the product page?

The grid draws from data the theme already hands over on the page. No request to the app happens when a product is viewed — the engine builds 250 cells at a median of 1.4 ms in its own test suite, with three event listeners for the whole grid regardless of size.

Does it need write access?

No. The only permission is read_products. The app's backend never creates orders and never holds a cart — "Add all to cart" goes straight to Shopify from the shopper's browser.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

The grid disappears from the storefront within a minute, and shoppers see the theme's regular picker. Settings stay in the app — resubscribe, and the grid comes back the same.
